Digital is a buzzword. One that even if it doesn’t stick, its definition will carry-on through whatever new terms we conjure up. It is the medium that makes up the experiences we consume through technology, the web, apps, etc.

Digital is an inevitable part of present and future business. If you believe that, you shouldn’t need to read the rest of this post to convince yourself that you need to bring digital in-house. But here are some extra reasons anyway:

Pitchers that can hit

As digital natives enter the workforce, those who seek out careers in the digital space come to you with digital expertise in-hand, but are blank canvases when it comes to building the future leadership for your company. Tap into the new generation for both what they can offer you today and what you need them to offer you tomorrow.

Digital mark-up

Digital is hot right now, and it’s just heating up. So are the prices. Have you seen how much a good online experience costs these days? It’s a lot, but actually, day-by-day, this stuff is getting easier, faster and cheaper to employ. Bringing digital in-house means investing in a long-term digital strategy, not just the flavor of the day technology experience.

Your strategy depends on it

It doesn’t matter if you sell homemade candles, or run a multi-national widget corporation, never has digital become so close to business — regardless of the technology used to create your product. It is the strategy. Running your digital solutions through the 3rd-party translator each time you have a strategy that depends on it is not the way to unleash your maximum potential. Long-term you’ll have spent a lot less, and have a much more consumer-cohesive digital footprint.

Your competition is doing it

Finally, the scariest reason of all, if none of these made you bat an eye this one should. If your competition is not going digital today, they will tomorrow. Digital adaptation is real, and truly those who adapt first will reap the rewards, and those who move too slowly will ultimately be consumed.
