Nestmetric is our analytics platform of choice for this post, currently the most solid analytics software for customer retention. This Guide will walk you through what events you should track using Nestmetric to be used for customer retention. You can send Nestmetric any interesting activity performed by users in your app. They are stored as events.

Events are as rich as you would like them to be. Events record the count, the first and last occurrence of an event. Once you’re sending Nestmetric this data, you can filter your user base according to these events and create engagement email or in app messages to send whenever an event occurs.

Here are things you can track using the events feature:

1. Activitysuch as using a particular feature or the number of times a feature has been used.

2.When data changedsuch as when a subscription was changed or the last time an order was placed.

3. Datathat may only be needed for a period of time, such as initial use of a feature.

4. Data about users, e.g. how many times they’ve created a project in your app. It’s a single value about a single piece of information also commonly known as key activity.

5. Descriptive information about users, such as profile data, region/country, web session type, or device data.

6. You could track the most recent time a user performed an action. For example, the last time they exported a CSV or created a project.

7. You can track when (and what) someone ordered on your site.

The following framework will help you decide what data must be sent to Nestmetric to help you achieve your business and analytics goals.
