Hello Nethermind Community,

We are excited to be kicking off our quarterly update series with this inaugural post! In it, we will highlight our biggest news from the past few months, and share a bit with you about what we’ve got coming up next.

Q3 was an exciting time for us. Not only did we grow as a team, but we also hit milestones, announced several new partnerships, and revamped our website, all while continuing to build. Here’s just a portion of what we were able to accomplish over the past few months:

  • Replaced the int256 library with a native C# lib, with help from our friends at Cardinal Cryptography.
  • Completed work on Beam Sync Wallet, our PoC for a desktop dashboard without Infura connection and with mainnet txs in 15 minutes. You can check out the beta version here!
  • Improved performance of all our precompiles.
  • Translated our website and documentation to Chinese
  • Helped to deliver Baseline BRI-1, alongside our partners at Provide.
  • Expanded Nethermind testing support for the great Ethereum Test team.
  • Implemented EIP-1559, thanks to funding from Ethereal Capital.
  • Announced Nethermind Plugins enabling you to easily add new RPC modules, custom, fine-grained EVM tracers, tx pool listeners, CLI extensions, and even your custom network protocols.

As the year goes on, we’ll continue to work on:

We’d like to give a huge amount of thanks to our community for your support in these initiatives, whether it is a like or retweet, telling a connection about Nethermind, or contributing via Gitcoin Grants, we see you, we hear you, and we appreciate you!

Partnerships

In July, we announced our partnership with fellow Baseline community leaders, Provide, who we collaborated with to bring state-of-the-art key management for privacy and messaging use-cases to our Nethermind .NET Ethereum client.

In early August, we announced our partnership with Energy Web, in order to support long-term network stability and further the decentralization of the Energy Web Chain.

We also became sponsors of the Ethereum OASIS open project, which hosts the Baseline Protocol Initiative.

Past Events

Despite in person events being on hold, we still managed to take part in EDCON2020, where Tomasz talked all about Ethereum Network Gas Prices. Give it a watch here:

We’ve also been taking part in the Post COVID Hack 2020, where Tomasz has been mentoring and gave a talk covering what to avoid when building your first blockchain app. Stay tuned for the recording.

Upcoming Events

We’re excited to take part in our first ETHPlanet AMA, happening just next week!

Tomasz will be talking about EIP-1559, its implementation, and what’s coming next for Nethermind.

The AMA will be held in ETHPlanet Discord Server on Monday, October 12, 2020, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM CET.

You can submit your questions in ETHPlanet Discord Server with #NethermindAMA or comment under the Twitter post with #NethermindAMA.

See you there!
