41 year old man electrocuted at a TMT bus stop, Who’s Responsible?
A 41-year-old man, Daus Mohammad was electrocuted at a TMT bus stop near ST workshop, Khopat, Thane, the deceased used to work in a salon and he was traveling to Bhandup to meet his parents.
The reason behind the accident is expected to be the electricity passing through the hoarding above the bus stop, which might have led to electrocution.
“He used to work at a salon and lived on Ambedkar Road in Thane. On Monday, his day off, he was waiting at the bus stop to go to his parents’ house in Bhandup.” said a police officer.
“The cause of the death is yet to be cleared but he suffered electrocution. It is possible that the electric supply to the LED lights over the hoarding somehow induced current in the metal frame of the bus stop. We have lodged an accidental death report.” said a senior police officer.
Similar incidents of electrocution have been reported in Mumbai and Mahim, but still, the revenue generating from the hoardings is much important for the corporations than the life of the common people.
The accident on the TMT bus stop is quite unfortunate, but who is to be blamed? The contractor or the Thane Municipal Corporation Authority? Even after the electrocution incidents reported in Mahim and Mumbai, why didn’t the TMT and TMC took proper steps to avoid such mishaps?
Someone has to answer all these questions which common man is asking.
