Government Will Ban Sandbanks in Coming Days: Chandrakant Patil
On Wednesday, Revenue Minister, Chandrakant Patil indicated the banning of the sandbank in coming days. He announced at the time of Monsoon Session in the legislative assembly. Sandbank damaged the environment and it also responsible damaged of river source. As like a plastic banned, sandbank ban will be improvising the environment. The government has allowed stone crushing as a substitute for sand. There has been a proposal to import the sand in the state from Malaysia, he said.
Bhoisar MLA Vilas Tare raised the question of Sandbank in Question-Answer period. As two workers from Usgoan, Vasai, slipped in the Tansa river because of the sandbank. At that time, NCP leader Ajit Pawar demanded to ban the sandbank like a ban on plastic. While answering him, the revenue ministers said that the decision to ban on sand cannot be taken immediately. Last year, more than Rs 22 crores have been recovered from this penalty, Chandrakant Patil said.

We are positive on the demand of providing five bras. Patil said that there is no permit fee for sand for those family belong to Below Poverty Line.
Environmental Restrictions
The state has not stopped giving sand licenses in the state. However, the Central Environment Department has put restrictions regarding this. You cannot lift the sand with the help of machine in flowing water. According to the permission of National Green Horizon, sand permeation is allowed in 90 per cent of the state, he added.
