MMRDA will Provide 50% Funds for Vitava-Thane Bridge

MMRDA will provide 50% funds to the proposed Vitava- Thane bridge and the rest 50% will be funded by Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).

MP. Dr Shrikant Shinde met the MMRDA Commissioner R. A. Rajiv and asked him to provide funds for the proposed Vitava- Thane bridge. Accordingly, he accepted the demanded and finalised to grant 50% funds for the project.

The proposed Vitava-Thane bridge will be constructed on the creek areas which will help to reduce the traffic rushing from Vitava to Thane and vice-versa. This will mainly help to cope up with the traffic problems in areas of Kharegaon and Kalva.

Traffic from Navi Mumbai is forced to move through Kalva, Kharegaon which creates traffic problems on the Kalva bridge, once the proposed bridge is completed, it will reduce the traffic burden on the Kalva bridge.

Mr Shinde asked for funds for roads between Mumbra Fire Station — Katai Naka and he explained the importance of the roads as heavy loaded vehicles pass through this route. He even asked MMRDA for the quick progress of construction of roads and bridges near Mumbra by-pass roads.

Traffic is the major problems in the Metropolitan cities. Quick efforts and proper management are required for settling the issue. Potholes being in the news which even costed many lives. TMC officials, Thane District Guardian minister Eknath Shinde, Kalyan MP Shrikant Shinde are seen on roads late night and putting their efforts to fill the potholes.
