Early Entrepreneurial Beginnings
As a self-proclaimed “foodie” from a young age, Laura was always coming up with ideas for businesses that revolved around food. When she was just 10 years old, Laura started her first business selling homemade cookies door-to-door. Although that business was short-lived (her parents weren’t too thrilled about her traipsing around the neighborhood), it did plant the seed for her future career as a food entrepreneur.
After college, Laura took a corporate job in marketing but quickly realized that it wasn’t for her. She yearned to be her own boss and have the freedom to pursue her passion for food full-time. In 2010, Laura took the leap and quit her day job to start MOMables.com.
MOMables Then & Now
Fast forward nine years and MOMables has become a successful online business with thousands of members worldwide. What started as a small blog featuring family-friendly recipes has grown into a comprehensive meal planning service complete with an app, cookbooks, products, and more.
In 2019, Laura launched FreshPrep, a meal kit delivery service that makes it easy for busy families to get healthy meals on the table without having to cooked from scratch. With FreshPrep, everything is prepped and ready to go — you just have to heat it up! The company has been growing steadily since its launch and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
