  1. More laughter needed

We were a little conservative on the pitch, and we noticed that laughter is a very important factor to a successful pitch(not always, but definitely a great way to draw users’ attention). The pitch works best when both speaker and audience are relaxed. Next time, we will consider to develop a sense of humor.

2. Explain what you do first

We put our “previous work” in the latter part of our presentation, after business opportunities and workflow. According to feedback, this increases misunderstanding and confusion about what our company do. Showing the “example” makes an overall impression, which helps audience to understand our business.

3. Choose a better medium

The user interview part would deliver much more if we made it in video rather than text. It is distracting to read a paragraph of words while listening to the pitch. With text only, we lost the critical information provided in gesture, expression, attitude. For audience, it is less authentic.
