“Should have” and “should have had”
I often struggle the use of English grammar, and imagine how do the English people feel ? I was wondering how to say below naturally.
“I should have a boyfriend.”
This sentence looks like the Subjunctive mood, but this is mere present tense. If I said as the Subjunctive mood, I would have said
“I should have had a boyfriend.”
However, when I said with my voice, “I should have …” Does it sound like the Subjunctive mood ? No? Or, any other good way to say anything such kind of occasion ?
