I am not going to lie — I started writing online to make money.
Today, many writers complain that they’re not making anything from writing.
Or they jump to another platform, hoping the money is there.
Maybe the problem isn’t the platform, but it’s you.
You see, I’ve been writing online for over a decade.
Around 1997, I wrote articles in local Army newspapers. In the following years, I wrote in military magazines and online forums.
In 2011, I gave blogging a try on my website, Teeball Baseball Blog.
After two years, I took a break from writing since I made zero as a blogger. But it taught me a lot of lessons about writing and SEO.
At the same time, I wrote an ebook that also made zero. This taught me I needed to work on my marketing and building a list.
A few years later, I wrote another ebook. This one I made money. It wasn’t a lot, but it showed me the market was out there to earn income.
