5 Mistakes That Silently Kill Your Writing (Most Don’t Know)
I stopped doing all of these, and my results got better.
Knowing what to do is important, but knowing what not to do is even more important.
In writing, these are 5 things that silently kill your writing.
1. Setting Unrealistic Expectations
Want to survive in the writing game?
Well, lower your expectations.
Because:
Writing fantasy: Make a zillion dollars sipping pina coladas in Bali.
Writing reality: Boring, bitter, and brutal, from the battle with something in your head.
If you want to stay in the game longer, treat writing as an infinite game.
Don’t worry about views.
Don’t worry about followers.
Don’t worry about money.
Set 6 months as a deadline.
Then, do everything to improve your writing skills.
You don’t lose because you write something no one reads.
But you lose when you set expectations too high, don’t get what you want, and quit writing.
