My city, Jamshedpur, India, has a half-marathon tomorrow. We also have distances of 10 km, 5 km and 2km for runners inclined towards shorter runs.

Runners like me.

For me, my fitness trainer picked 2 km, and she had to push me to register!

Happy high yesterday

I was thrilled when I got my bib and t-shirt yesterday for what is my first ever run. A 2-kilometer run is a daunting distance for me. In order to successfully complete the distance without walking much during the race, I’ve been walking/running half the distance twice everyday for the last two weeks.

Stuff that has happened due to adding a 1+1 km run to my day is:

  1. A better VO2 max — and that is a metric that hardly ever shifts for me. This is a heart health metric. Apple Watch recorded it for me during my outdoor walks and runs.
