A Simple Reason Why I Am Ghosting Facebook Groups

There is a reason you need to try new things as a writer

Since I started writing in 2020, I used Facebook groups to reach writers/readers. Now I plan to ghost the groups to see what the results look like.

I have a good number of followers — 7,412 to be exact.

Of course, some of these followers may not be on the platform anymore. Readers and writers come and go.

Don’t get me wrong. I love the community in Facebook groups, despite the nonsense that goes on with the fake writers.

But for me, it’s about time and I value it.

Time is one thing you can’t get back.

When you’re in Facebook groups, it’s easy to waste your time. There are some good discussions once in a while. However, most of the discussions are complaints and end up taking more of your time.

Then, as someone likes the article you posted or leaves a comment, you go back and respond to their message. This also wastes your time.

I usually respond to writers as I read their articles. Occasionally, I’ll leave a comment if I think of something.
