Did I Meet Any of My January 2025 Goals?

If it was baseball, going 1 for 3 isn’t too bad

The end of January is here, and it’s time to look back at my goals.

It’s really amazing the difference one month can make. Things can go from being a little slow around here to the gates of hell opening up, but that’s not the point of this article.

I know you are all waiting in anticipation to hear my results and most of you probably couldn’t even sleep well last night thinking about it.

Alright, time for my walk of shame.

Goal 1) Lose 4 Pounds of Fat — Fail

I don’t know what I was smoking when I created this goal. The good news is that I didn’t gain any weight. The bad news is that I didn’t really lose anything. My weight was 208.8 pounds when I started, and it never changed more than a pound up or down.

Oh, and before everyone starts fat-shaming me in their minds, I just want to let you know I’m 6'1. I know no one would ever type such horrible thoughts, but I can just feel them in the air, so I wanted to make things clear!

I also like to think that I did lose fat, but I replaced it with muscle because I actually have been working out on a regular basis. At least, that is what I tell myself to rest better at night.

Goal 2) Keep Staying Active — Success

I wasn’t a complete underachiever!

Believe it or not, I’ve been staying active by lifting weights because it helps keep me halfway sane, or I would have literally lost my $hit a long time ago from spending so much time here and earning less than 50 cents a day.

I usually lift weights every other day, and I try to walk or do some yard work on the rest days. I didn’t walk as much as I wanted to because I didn’t think getting frostbite was worth it.

Goal 3) Read 5 Pages a Day — Fail

I started out well with this goal for the first part of the month, but I eventually stopped reading. It’s not totally my fault. I’ve literally been trying to finish The God is Not Willing since 2021, and I made some progress but damn it’s hard to finish.
