I’ve been a writer since 2007. Imagine how many first drafts I’ve created. It took me years to learn my lesson, though.

Get this. Before I knew better and wrote for customers, I didn’t create first drafts. Not really. I corrected spelling mistakes and raced on to my next story or article. That was before I recognized editing and polishing my work was vital.

Of course, back then, I didn’t write to please clients. I wrote to please myself. However, I neglected my online audience by not making my stories as delectable as they could have been.

In time, I realized the importance of first, second, and even third drafts. My attitude underwent a complete turnaround. Having understood my rush to publish and create had made me write unprofessionally, I perfected my work, which was also a mistake.

You can overdo the editing and polishing process to the extent you lose clarity and your writer’s voice.

Because I wanted to create beautiful writing, my initial renderings annoyed me. They were rubbish.

Or so I thought.
