I like my muse where I can keep an eye on her. Preferably, sitting inside my head. But, occasionally, and I kid you not, she takes flight. The next thing I know, she’s sunning herself in Hawaii or skiing in the Alps.

What gives?

Didn’t I feed her, clothe her, and nourish her in every way possible?

Actually… Maybe not.

But still. She’s my muse, and I thought we were a team.

Maybe you feel the same about your muse.

Most writers experience occasions when they must create work, but their urge to put pen to paper lags. It’s not that they’ve suddenly become incapable of writing.

The problem stems from an unexplainable sinking feeling, like they are dredging the bottom of a sludgy well, looking for inspiration and finding goo.

Or worse, nothing.

When your well runs dry, you need to coax your muse back from her holiday.

Wouldn’t it be great to know how to bring home your muse?
