Have You Left The Keys in the Door? Can You Sleep Anymore?

--

I have left my keys in the door. More times than I can remember.
Sometimes I fall asleep and think, have I left the keys in the door?
Maybe I will wake up with a stranger.
Then I will remember.
Don't leave it in the door! Even the birds squawk!

Since the inside door did not need a key for me to enter,
I closed the door and step into my comfort.
But now I do not do that anymore — I left the keys in the door.

I have a key for the inner door.
So I will never wake to a stranger.
I left it once, and someone took it.
They came back in the evening and gave it.

Why would you keep a key for so long?
I had to have all the locks changed.

You jangle my keys as if they are yours?
You wanted money for their return!
Be gone you piece of …
But how could I trust someone like him?

All locks were changed, flung away with the tide.
Now I never let my key be caught in the doors clutches.
I do not want to utter — have I left the keys in the door.
They are safe where
I can see them and now I am reassured.

The last thing at night — keys are in sight!

Have A fabulous day!
