How To Kill Your Book Sales

I just finished watching a new television series based on Stephanie Wood’s autobiographical romance story, Fake. It was ever so good, and some of it resonated with my own experiences. I had unanswered questions. So, I thought I’d buy the book.

I looked on Amazon. £32 for the paperback. £32! Really?

With the story having been made into a television series by Paramount and screened around the world, this book has the potential to be a bestseller. Maybe it was already a bestseller. But the potential for her to sell millions more, I feel, has been quashed by greedy publishers.

I’ve never spent £32 on a book, not even an academic text. It looks like I’m not the only one who feels this way. The secondhand market is seeing high demand. World of Books is fresh out of copies for a fiver. And Amazon’s secondhand sales are at £27!

I’ll be asking in the charity shops if they’ve got a copy. £32 for a paperback is ridiculous!
