I No Longer Care

Sunday’s don’t mean much to me anymore

I used to look forward to Sundays and sometimes Mondays between September through January. Every Cowboys game meant a lot to me, and I would keep up with all of the news throughout the week.

I even had season tickets in the cheap seats for a couple of years. Nowadays, I could care less about who wins or loses. I actually hope they never win a game for the rest of the season because Jerry and his family are incompetent idiots with an ego bigger than Texas.

I’m not going to go into details and rehash what has been said about the team thousands of times. Everyone knows the issues if you are a fan of football.

One of the benefits of not caring is that my emotions are no longer tied to a dysfunctional team. I can watch a game with zero expectations, except I know with full confidence that the Cowboys will always come up short.

What is the life lesson? Never base your emotions on things that you can’t control. That’s especially true when it involves a team with a star on its helmet.

You can also apply this mindset to other areas of life. You are the only person responsible for your emotions. Never base your feelings on other people or things.

As I write this blog post, the Cowboys just gave up a touchdown. Looks like it’s going to be another loss, but I couldn’t careless.

It’s just another Sunday.

How do you handle losing? Do you have a favorite team that always disappoints? Feel free to let me know!
