I’m No Longer Putting Articles Behind a Paywall on Substack (Because I Clearly Know What I’m Doing)
It’s called reverse-psychology marketing. Probably. Maybe. I don’t know.
A modified version of this article was originally published on my Substack on April 22, 2025. I cross-post my articles here to make an extra $1.56. Don’t judge me.
I’ve been on Substack for about three months. I can sum up my experience with one word. Confidence… Oops, I mean confusion!
How often should I post? What type of notes should I write? Do I create a publication? When do I turn on the paid option? Does Bigfoot really exist? What really happened to the dinosaurs? Why am I always missing a random sock?
Oops, I’m going off the rails too soon. I’m not even past the third paragraph.
Where was I again? Oh yes, I’m writing about why I’m keeping my posts free.
You’ve probably been losing sleep at night thinking about the subscription model I use on Substack. I know this is serious stuff, and you’re on the edge of your seat. Actually, my article is probably sitting in your spam folder, but that’s a story for another day.
So, why did I decide to go with two free articles per week instead of one free and one…
