My Older Articles Suck, But At Least I’m Making Progress

Some things are better left in the past

Every now and then I get the bright idea to pin an older article to my profile.

No, not one a few months old, I’m talking about the ones from 2020.

I only have one problem. These articles suck.

The content might not be terrible, but the formatting will make your eyes bleed, and most don’t cover the most interesting of topics.

I’ve tried to make a few edits, but sometimes, I think it would be better to light the entire thing on fire.

Am I the only one who looks back at my older articles in embarrassment? At least I’m making progress after a few years.

I can blame it on being new to Medium, but I had already been writing for over three years at the time.

My biggest problem was writing too formal, using massive paragraphs, and not adding a personal touch.

I treated Medium more like how I wrote with clients at the time and not like a blog post.

Oh well, live and learn.

If you need any proof, I’ll include the first article I’ve ever published on Medium below.
