A sad update on the bird saga

I know we don’t need any more negativity, but I feel like it’s my obligation to finish the story I started.

A couple of days ago, I discovered a bird that had flown into the window at my parent’s house and almost knocked himself out. I wasn’t sure if it was going to make it or not, so I moved it off the patio and into another part of the yard to keep it away from my cat.

I checked on it a few hours later, and I noticed that it had disappeared. I figured it finally got his bearings together, and it flew off to live happily ever after, like in every Disney movie.

Well, I was wrong.

Yesterday, I was going through an existential crisis while contemplating my next decision in life. Wait, that’s a little too dramatic. Let me start over again.

Yesterday, I was hanging out on the patio, and I had already pretty much forgotten about the damn bird until I heard a crunch. No, I didn’t step on it, but the suspicious crunch came from underneath the table where my cat likes to sit and spend most of the day.

My suspicions were soon confirmed when I looked underneath the table to see my cat eating the remains of the bird. Now, to be fair, I’m not 100% sure this was the same bird because I didn’t have…
