When they write, most people online offer us only noise, while only a few offer us their souls. And they feel very different when we read them. In a world inundated with content, it’s getting easier to misinterpret a meaningful story. Especially when publishing platforms like this one have encouraged writers to prioritise sharing personal stories over mere informational articles.
Although I completely agree that personal stories help create a real connection with readers, I believe there’s something more important that often gets overlooked: the quality of the writing itself.
We read and relate to a story not because it’s personal, but because it’s well-written. When ideas flow naturally, we can tell the writer is inspired, and that they’ve either deeply reflected on the concept or experienced something meaningful that they are now sharing. What good is a personal story if it’s empty and shallow, a mere description (and not a good one) of their daily activities without offering the reader anything deeper?
Writing has to uplift, inspire, and stir emotions.
