Why the hell not?
Last week, I finally told my bestie about writing on Medium. Only my husband knows about it. I don’t usually share this side of myself with my friends and family. I’ve learned that friends and family aren’t very interested in our writings. It can break your heart to look to those people for support.
But earlier today, after reading about magazine serials of yesteryear, Bestie had an idea and called me.
“I still don’t understand how Medium works, but have you considered publishing your novella on the platform? Break it up into parts like a serial. That might be fun.”
My first thought was, “Wow! She really was listening when I told her about it.” My second thought was, “I sure hope she doesn’t start poking around and recognize herself in anything.” She’s in several stories but under a different name.
I told her that publishing on Medium might not be a bad idea.
I have two e-books — short novellas — for sale on the Smashwords platform. But I haven’t had a sale in months. I don’t market them like I should nor do I keep up on the other platforms where I’m registered. I don’t work my little stories. I’m a lazy-ass promoter and the books just sit…
