SEAGULLS AND LIFE
Seagulls at Night, a Flocking Delight
Seagulls in the morning, squawkers warning. My first poem and ode to seagulls. What can seagulls teach us about life?
Seagulls at Night, a Flocking Delight
It’s night but still bright,
Seagulls flock, hawk, and squawk,
Dusk dawns and night beckons,
Seagulls flying high in the sky;
From a birds-eye, gulling birds without words,
Gather to paddle in the sea, what a glee;
Splashing, squawking, dipping and sipping,
Before circling the sky, but why;
What purpose of gulls by the sea, but to flee,
Free to fly to faraway destinies,
Gulls and the sea are to be;
Night beckons while nature reckons,
Gulls in the night so quiet take flight,
Until morning, a flocking delight;
Seagulls are ace, embrace their race,
Freedom to fly, high and dry,
Yellow-billed gull, stopping to mull;
