Someone Has Hacked My Medium Account
But it is okay — they wrote a story for me…
Someone stole my name, face, and my Medium account and wrote a story.
Sometimes in life, things happen, and you just do not have any control over them.
It was a few days ago, and this happened to me, and I do not know why.
I am always so diligent and know exactly what I do and take security very carefully.
How is it possible that someone could hack into my Medium account, and why would they want to?
I sort of panicked, thinking that maybe when I had used a cafe and open-access internet, someone had taken my details and hacked into my Medium account.
But why would they hack into it and then write a story?
I was using my phone and checked a comment left by a reader and then went to the story as I could not for the life of me think what the comment was referring to.
I read the first few lines…
I kept reading, puzzled, I DID recognise some of those words and phrases. I kept reading the story…then it hit me — oh yeah, I did write this!
The plot came rushing back like an old school friend I had forgotten!
The comment left was from ALEX KIRKLAND. He left his comment five days ago on a story I wrote in May — just May and I forgot about it!
Here is the story:
What? How could I not remember writing a story? Half of what I write, I cannot even remember writing.
What a great idea for a story. I wish I had thought of it. Yes, you did. It is your story.
After writing for one year, next month, July marks one year and 420 stories to date. I am losing it.
I have become intoxicated on writing, and I do not even remember all the stories I write.
Lesson learned. I am going to go back and read over my old stories. Not just so I can remember what I have written, but also to see if there are any old comments that I have not answered! That will be a task with 400 plus stories!
