Life takes you on a ride sometimes
The past few years haven’t been easy for me and I’m sure it hasn’t been for you either.
You went through the pandemic in 2020.
Shortly after, inflation kicked in.
Then you saw Russia invade Ukraine, and Hamas attacked Israel.
And you may have been laid off once or twice along the way.
That is a lot in a few years.
I experienced this and had to be creative. With a roof over my head, paying bills, and still being a supportive husband, father, and son, it has been challenging.
Let me not forget, that I spent over a year getting my mom into a nursing home trying to understand the complex moves of social security. It is not easy.
In September 2020, I was released from a company as a government contractor as the war overseas was dying down. Two years later I was hired as a writer for an East Coast investment company. That company laid me off in June 2022 on a surprise — you’re fired Zoom call.
Then my writing income dropped as NewsBreak stopped paying writers their fair share.
