Ashu was very fond of butterflies.

He would chase them all day but barely managed to catch one or two.

Once caught, he’d place the butterflies in a matchbox, but by the next day, they’d be dead.

Poor Ashu felt heartbroken.

He shared his sorrow with Dadaji (grandfather), who was always ready to help.

Dadaji made a small garden behind the house, a garden with six corners, and planted flowers like roses, marigolds, jasmine, chrysanthemums, mogra (Arabian jasmine), and dahlias.

Ashu watered the plants in his garden with great enthusiasm every evening.

Dadaji added three types of fertilizers and sprayed insecticides on the plants. Soon, the flowers bloomed beautifully.

Then one day, two butterflies appeared in Ashu’s garden, fluttering all day.

The next day, seven more came – green, white, yellow, and black butterflies. By the third day, Ashu counted seventy-two butterflies, and on the ninth day, one hundred and twenty butterflies filled his garden!
