Two “Unshocking” Theories on Why Many of Us Miss Out on Sleep

I haven’t slept enough since I was a kid and I’m now 48.

Partly, it’s my hair’s fault — ridiculous. You can read about it here, if you want to.

But that’s only a small fraction of the problem.

Not everyone’s has a bad hair day every day, yet the epidemic of bad sleep affects millions across the world. 50 to 70 million of us.

Are you one of them?

Smart people conducted a survey in the UK. 8000 people participated. And the results? Well…they were shocking.

The Brits are sleeping no more than 5.9 hours of sleep per night. And only 36% of participants claimed they got quality sleep. Ouch!

What happened to the remaining 64%?

Were they party animals? Insomniacs? Did they suffer from sleep apnea?

Hardly. Not all of them, anyway.

But if we want theories, here’s one. Actually, two. Let’s start with parenting.
