What To Do When the Money Dries Up

A letter to writers who feel like giving up

Last year, for a few months, I hit a rich vein of form with my articles. Suddenly, I was getting 10,000s of reads and making around $200- $300 per month.

I thought;

This is it. The years of nothing have paid off. I’ve cracked the code.

And now? Normal service has been well and truly resumed.

There’s a trickle. I earn a few dollars. Maybe nothing at all.

How many of you has this happened to?

It’s demoralising. It makes you question if you’re any good. It makes you wonder if those early wins were a fluke. And if you’re honest, it’s tempting to walk away altogether.

But before you do, I want you to hear this — clearly and without sugarcoating:

You’re not failing. You’re levelling up.
