Why I Stopped Working Out at Home
Home Workouts Don’t Work for Me — Here’s What I Do Instead
So here’s an honest update — yes, I’ve been consistent with the gym and diet for more than a week, like I shared earlier.
But then, life happened. I went back home to my family, and since I changed cities, I had to leave the gym behind.
While dieting is not an issue, leaving the gym behind was. Naturally, you’d expect me to switch to home workouts, right? But truth be told, they just don’t work for me.
I’ve tried them a few times, but I lose interest quickly. They don’t excite or motivate me the way a proper gym session does. And that’s okay. I’ve finally accepted that home workouts just aren’t my thing.
But instead of doing nothing, I found something that does work for me — I walk. A lot. Especially when I’m on phone calls or catching up with someone. Walking while talking has been my go-to activity during this break from the gym.
In fact, I told ChatGPT (yes, again!) that I wasn’t doing my gym workouts anymore, what should be my temporary diet for the next three days and guess what? It didn’t change the whole plan — it simply adjusted my diet, mainly by reducing portion sizes to match my lower activity level. Smart, right?
