Just start

People often ask me how to start a start-up.
I have no idea.

What I usually advise is reading lots of entrepreneur stories and getting inspired. Eventually, one will see common patterns in their stories and get their answer.

I also did this in the past and did not find any patterns.
Everyone has their own life path so every way to start is unique.

I did see a pattern though in entrepreneur’s mentality.

Entrepreneurs are committed to bring their vision to reality and no obstacle can stop them from moving forward.

So my answer is just do it.
Jump in the unknown and start.

  • “But how do you deal with money ?”
Save enough from your current job to have a 2 years runway.
  • “But how about the team ?”
Pursue an idea that stimulates your mind and you will eventually meet like-minded people to build this with you.
  • “But how about the idea ?”
Be curious and you will stumble on a topic that catches all your attention.

One might have a lot of other questions. But it can all be figured out on the way. Entrepreneurship includes management of uncertainty and learning to be comfortable with this notion starts there.
Right now, if the lack of answers to those questions stops one from acting, then those questions have become excuses. Don’t be fooled by your own self. Remove the mental obstacles your consciousness puts between you and who you want to be.

Apart from those 2 cents, the best I can do to answer the initial question is telling my own starting story [insert link when post is ready].
