Why did God bless the seventh day and made it holy?
Every moment of each day is holy.
Only a simple-minded, man-made, supercilious ancestral belief system of some peculiar simpletons could hold true the fanciful idea of God being in their own idiotic ‘make’ i.e. akin a human-like entity. And therefore like very much like mortal humans, needing a physical rest on the seventh day of the week.
Simple people believe anything.
More outlandish it is the more is it believed.
It is pretty straightforward for these fellas to hold dear to the superstitious belief and the simplistic idea that has been similarly handed down to them by their simpler ancestors. Growing up with such a widespread wild mendacity and tangential peculiarity, breeds in and brings forth a typically spaced-out, simple kind of people.
The simple lot tends not to think for itself.
It lets its stone-age-minded ancestors, and their unsophisticated diktats — in the form of oral or written records — to do the thinking. It thus comes to pass that this particular kind of people nurture rather unthinkingly the handed down, insipid and stupid second-hand belief of their people; who had lived before their time, during the dark ages — when even the natural process of thunder and lightening was believed to be no less than God Almighty himself!
They imbibe the illusion in which wallowed their simple ancestors afore.
No wonder they too hold that their imagined god worked his butt off for six days. And then, having created the universe in six days, this humanoid of a god rested on the seventh day.
Perhaps by then this gentleman, their believed-in personal god, was bored stiff! Having created nitwits like us, who would not be? Anybody could have been out of his wits by then!
So, butt-tired, like us imbecilic human beings, this human-like god, wiped the sweat off his brow. And on the seventh day he just plonked himself on his bed. Sort of lazed around. Kind of, basked in the sun like us bums; resting the bum! That is why this day is a holiday. And is called a ‘holy’ day, of the sun! Ah! beloved Sunday. Our dear rest-the-bum day!
Of course all the above said is nansy-pansy.
Many a people around the world, in the region they live in, have had no deep custom and tradition in their society of self inquiry — by one’s own individual self — into the metaphysical truth and reality. Lacking this window of opportunity, to this very day, right up to this very moment, they thus harbour a superstitious mentality.
Now it may be asked, perfectly logically, that if so is the case then in the land of the gnostics and yogis etc., namely India, how come people yet believe in more than 330,000,000 gods and goddesses?
Well, they do because they are simple people.
They neither have the time nor the inclination to incisively venture in or inquire unto and about the metaphysical realm. They would rather hold on to their familiar and familial gods than seek That which is God.
It is akin somebody not using the mobile in today’s time because one thinks it is a bit too bothersome for him or her. Or that its technology is rather difficult to understand. Or they just do not value its benefits. Perhaps they have no use for it. Or they just do not believe in it.
Most people do not have the propensity for metaphysical matters.
It is easier to believe than seek.
It is like one getting junk food, than make the meal oneself, sort of. It is much less cumbersome and much more comfortable. One does not have to worry about buying the groceries, peeling the vegetables, frying them etc. It saves one the effort to do anything. So, why not buy fast-food off the shelf? This is exactly what youngsters do now days — here in India, the USA or elsewhere too. It is become the thing to do.
However, for those who do seriously inquire into the ‘That’ of Which Is, an entirely different world opens up than the one which one has throughout one’s life empirically held to be real and true.
If one is lucky — if it is one’s karmic due — then, the seeker is led on to a ‘way out’ wondrous path of self-discovery. Yet not everybody is up for ‘It’: the tough and tedious mystical journey unto the Divine Truth.
It is a ‘narrow gate’ which leads to the Realization of the Absolute.
Many a people have a vision or two. Their ego shoots up. Most turn into idiots. And hence, they fall along the way. Claiming they have ‘seen god’ — their ‘personal’ and ‘chosen’ ancestral idea of and about God — they go nuts! Either they claim a this or that messiah-hood, or the very avatar-ship of the Lord Almighty himself!
Many others fall out, not making any progress. They fail to get any surreal ‘sighting’, even of the lower kind. And definitely not of the Divine. Consequently, they turn into atheists.
Quite a few let bookish erudition dictate their intellect.
In time, all the messianic and the non-believing kind turn asinine.
It is humility, selflessness, devotion and worship, egoless-ness, a pure food intake i.e. vegetarian lifestyle, not harming the animals to satiate one’s palate, doing good and retaining the basic humane goodness, and not ever letting one’s search and seeking the Truth abate — which leads the seeker to the Divine Way.
A rare few ‘get’ the Way.
This ‘chosen lot’, so to say, overcome the illusion of this worldly non-reality. Getting innumerable visions along the way, and not getting emotionally attached to the same, in time they realize by self that this projected world is nothing but the shadow of Which Is. That is, they are ‘born again’ unto the mystical realm of the Higher Cosmic Self.
‘There’, at the End, is found the Godliness of Eternal Essence.
It is the only Truth and Reality ‘out there’.
No angels, messiahs, avatars, fairies, hell or heaven etc. as a ‘physical reality’ exist thereof. No day, no this-that, no Sunday! No time. No dear beloved people who have passed away. No ancestors! No gods! In fact, all one’s beliefs therein are turned up side down! And turn out to be nothing more than naught!
Nothing other than no-thing-ness is the is-ness of Which Is. Just One Self as that Which Is. Whatsoever is, Whole of One and Oneness is!
From this Oneness of Infinity is born everything.
Hereof we come. Unto ‘It’ we go. Every moment is eternal thereof. No moment exists! All an endless, a beginning-less self-less-ness is! Everything is holy in Self-Realization. Each moment is divine — though there is no day, or time!
As is ‘There’, so is ‘here’.
Summing up, the metaphysical truth and reality is that neither the seventh day nor any other day, but each and every moment of each and every day is singularly and specially blessed and holy.
One should try to rise above the limiting belief system of one’s own culture to comprehend the divine-ness and holiness of each and everything that exists.
For at the End is but timelessness and oneness as your ‘am-ness’. ~_~
