I Don’t Care That Madonna Changed Her Face

She’s perpetually iconic to me, filter or no filter

Madonna is now 65 years old, only you wouldn’t know it by looking at her. The above photo was taken on May 24th, 2024. It’s presumably a bathroom selfie, which makes me chuckle. That’s so like her.

A lot of people continue to have opinions about her extensive plastic surgery.

A couple of years ago, they threw out comments like the following:

“Oh Mads….I can’t even take you seriously….where have you gone...” or, “Oh my.... who's that girl? Madonna? No ... not anymore. It is really so sad to see what Madonna has become. She looks like a twenty year old because of surgery's [sic], Hyaloron and Botox injektions [sic], and brutal photoshop. ….It’s sooo sad …” — Facebook post from Madonna in 2022, about her absent manicurist

Only one comment was related to her post. Everyone is either worried or making fun of her. I’d be willing to bet that most of them are too young to know of the decades of musical and social impact Madonna has brought to our culture. Calling her “Mads” assumes a familiarity with a celebrity that just isn’t there.
