I’m a psychotherapist.

As you can imagine, my job has become more stressful since we elected the current President. It hurts me just to write that descriptor. He’s not my President.

Neither is he the President for most of my clients. Whether by design or good fortune, the majority of my clients are socially liberal, and some are progressive. More than one are Social Democrats.

I also work with transgender clients, both those in process and those fully transitioned. Currently, my trans clients are not adolescents, which is, sadly, a relief for me. New draconion laws in the nation and my former state of Texas would have made working with young trans people much more fraught. The adolescents I had in the past are now fully transitioned, happy, and well-adjusted.

Most of my clients — female, male, trans, gay, straight, married, single — are anxious, scared, enraged, and traumatized. About the current Administration and the surreal way the United States is changing under the new “leadership”.
