Sing along with me:

As the deer pants for the water
so my soul longs after You;
You alone are my heart’s desire,
and I long to worship You.

A minister once said,

Nowadays Christians do not just speak lies, they also sing them.

Hope you are not among the lying ones.

You know the lyrics

Go through the motions

Get on your knees and lie down prostrate

In fact, heaven hears you the loudest

And this world can’t contain your zeal

Bold, without shame

Though, He alone is not your heart’s desire

But He is somewhere in there

Besides it’s been long since you truly worshipped Him.

Let’s stop the performance.

The Bible recounts the experiences of those who encountered and walked with God. They knew Him experientially.

When you read the Psalms of David you will notice detailed descriptions such as:

“You are clothed in honor and majesty, who cover Yourself with Light as with garments who stretch out the heavens like a curtain.” — Psalm 104:1 NKJV

But, you would be mistaken to assume that his utterances were simply the product of skilled poetic oratory. David knew God intimately. From the depths of his heart he worshipped his Creator, though words limited his expression.

It is possible to experience a profound connection with God that goes beyond mere religious routines and traditions. However, to achieve this, you must be deliberate about your spiritual growth.

You can begin by learning to worship intentionally —

Examining the lyrics of the songs you sing. Ask yourself if your confessions align with your lifestyle and beliefs. If not, set aside time to explore those conflicting beliefs and work towards aligning them with confessions.
