Your Soul: The Power Of The Mind And Antics Of Mind Control Spirits
“Is there something on my head”, I asked my mum one evening. “No, there’s nothing there”, She replied. That’s weird I thought to myself. I could feel something on my head and I was so sure. Why could I feel it but she couldn’t see it? A voice in my head kept telling me there was something there.
Whatever you believe in your mind is brought to reality in your life. The devil knows more than anything else that the human soul is a powerful tool for control and that is why he goes after the souls of men, first. This spiritual life is a battle of the souls of men.
Dr. Myles Munroe, one of the greatest teachers that ever lived said that the human soul comprises: your mind, your will, and your emotions. This can be further explained as the “Tripartite” nature of man.
Today I will be talking about the power of the mind which is an important tool of control for the enemy.
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
Philippians 4:8
As Christians, we need to be careful about what we feed our minds. The mind, like the body, also needs to be fed. Therefore, pay attention to who you listen to and the thoughts that you allow to grow in your mind.
This is because the mind is the centre of the soul. The mind works both on a conscious and an unconscious level. Seeds of hatred, resentment, anger, bitterness, and envy among other evil traits are first sown in the mind.
When we keep nurturing these thoughts, it begins to manifest through our spirits and bodies in the physical. That is why it becomes difficult to forgive, to ignore, and to live in love because those evil seeds have already become Strongholds in our lives.
Our conscious mind is what feeds our subconscious mind information and once anything evil gets into our subconscious mind, it becomes harder to flush it out. Hence, if you don’t control what comes into your conscious mind, it will soon become your subconscious mind.
Likewise, just as the devil is after your soul for destruction, God is after your Soul for salvation. Have you ever wondered why it is called “soul-winning”? This is because God knows that when a soul is saved, it becomes easy for the spirit and body to align with it in righteousness and holiness.
Mind Control Spirits
Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
Matthew 10:16
The devil knows that once he can control your soul as a man, it will be easy to control any other part of you and eventually destroy you. The devil is described as wise and cunning. So he knows just how to attack you, without you even knowing.
Like I always say, this world is 100% spiritual. There are spirits that control your mind just to make you sin against God. These spirits are so cunning that they study every man to know his weaknesses. Once you lose your guard, they gain control of you by making you commit unobvious or obvious sins that are bound to take the Holy Spirit away from you.
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
John 14:26
The Holy Spirit is our helper and once the Holy Spirit leaves us, we become endangered.
Mind control spirits can literally ruin your life with your own hands. They can make you take drastic decisions that can affect your joy and peace, believe in superstitions, live in great fear, and render you faithless. The end goal is to silence the voice of the Holy Spirit in your mind, make you reliant on only the voice of the devil, and be a faithless Christian.
Unfortunately, they can masquerade as the voice of the Holy Spirit and lead you into committing heresy, blasphemy, and grieving the Holy Spirit.
And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
2 Corinthians 11:14
It is important to always remember that the Holy Spirit will never say anything contrary to the word of God, never make you live in disobedience either to God, spiritual authorities, or your parents; and never lead you astray.
Ever wondered why some Christians backslide despite having profound knowledge about Jesus Christ, why some people preach heresy and things that contradict the word of God?
Sometimes it is not done intentionally but because their souls have been unconsciously or consciously willed to the devil through continuous wrong and evil thoughts they have allowed to dwell.
It is so bad that these thoughts do not have to be evil. They can be wrongly adjusted to suit your appetite. When the devil tempted Jesus, he used the word of God, although he added to it.
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
Ephesians 6:11
Any voice or leading that adds to the word of God or removes from the word of God is not the voice of God. To overcome any mind control spirit, you need to read and meditate on the word of God diligently.
Repentance
The fact that you are reading this article today means that there is hope and God still has a purpose for your life. That is why he woke you up today. Like I always say, no one is too far gone for salvation and rededication.
With God, you are a precious creation and He doesn’t want the destruction of any of his creations. The only way you can withstand the wiles of the devil is when you have the Holy Spirit. If you are here today, and you want to surrender or rededicate your life to Christ so that the Holy Spirit can be the only stronghold in your life, say this after me:
Lord Jesus, I believe that you died on the Cross of Calvary for my sins and that you love me dearly. Today I confess that you are my Lord and personal Savior. I surrender my life, body, soul, and spirit to you as I invite you to come and dwell in my heart. I confess and forsake every sin hindering me from experiencing your saving grace (mention the sin). Please accept me today, and make me free from the grip of death, hell, and sin. Thank you, Lord, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
