JAMES: Intro
The theme of James is ethics of Christianity…not doctrine like the Pauline Epistles. Both say faith is the root of salvation and works are the fruit of salvation. James emphasizes how we are to live out our faith and what are the signs that we are a true Christian.
James 1:22 “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
James 2:20 “But wilt thou know, o vain man, that faith without works is dead?”
In other words: FAITH ALONE SAVES….but…THE FAITH THAT SAVES IS NOT ALONE!
