Milk Basket is getting bigger

Milk delivery is the hottest new trend after grocery delivery. From Bigbasket to Swiggy to Grofers, everyone is eying this market. It started out as a milk delivery service, as most households order milk every day, totaling INR 1000/ month.


  • Gurgaon based Milk Basket is amongst the first movers. It also caters to 40,000 households in Gurgaon. It has raised more than INR 70 crores till date.
  • It plans to reach 10 lakh households by 2022. It also aims to hire 2000 people in next three years.
However, it has it’s competitors in Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad. 
Daily Ninja, which recently launched in Hyderabad, handles about 25,000 orders a day, according to the company. RainCan handles about 10,000 orders a day, Milk Basket about 8,000 and Supr Daily about 5,000, according to industry estimates.
BigBasket has acquired 100% stakes in milk delivery startups RainCan and Morning Cart, and a controlling stake in vending machines startup Kwik24, the company announced on Friday.
