Sleep my darling sleep, for my love I know soon shall you awake; The longing in your heart revealed through the windows of your soul, that only one may take;

Hide not those windows from me, the lover of your soul, for when my eyes look through yours, all I see is the beauty and strength, you keep hidden deep within, and every time I look, I want more to be let in;

All the other lovers of your past and bygone days seemed only to be fit to pilage, thrash and rape; The beautiful person deep down inside they never truly saw, their blind eyes and groping hands continually cutting you raw;

Oh my love my darling, hide not thy scars from me, for the beauty of your heart is etched with your pasts open frailty; I wish you only knew how much my soul truly matches yours, scarred and charred by the blades and brands of those who claimed to be lovers;

Perhaps my love, what love truly is, is the shedding of every tear; And as they tumble through the air and drop onto another’s heart, they cleanse and heal those deep scars inflicted by someone who I am not;

And perhaps the tumble of romance along with the shedding of each tear; releases from within a soul a small piece of a massive unspeakable pain, and perhaps that pain released heals the scars etched deep in another’s souls veins;

As I stand over you now sleeping so peacefully and divine, another shed tear slips from my eye straight from this heart of mine; I watch it fall off my cheek as I stroke your soft lovely locks of hair; and I wonder what scar of yours my tear is healing, as with bended head by your side I now am kneeling;

Perhaps part of our healing is the song of thankfulness that resonates within our hearts flowing through the scars of pain; flowing through our throats and thoughts that each other, our lover, was worth the wait;

And as angels standby to lift that song upward into the higher realms; they touch our eyes and add that healing song to the tears that fall from these windows of our soul;

Now I stand and step away from your peaceful sleeping body breathing deeply the song resonating from my heart; as another wave of thankfulness emanates through my own scars;

You heal me when awake and you heal me when you sleep; You heal me when I see in your eyes that you only want me; I only hope I do the same for you and each and every day, slowly with my tears of thankfulness and love relinquish all your pain.
