My Early (1974) Spiritual Encounters in Hong Kong
Transcendental Meditation was a big part of my growing-up years, especially in Hong Kong.

The following is slightly edited from a diary I kept as an exchange student from the US to Hong Kong from 1974 to 1976. Some explanations are added to the original text are in [brackets].
[I turned 19 in 1974. Early that year, I learned TM (Transcendental Meditation), which started my spiritual journey. I bought ‘Be Here Now’ by Ram Dass around that time, which became my bible. And I still own the original copy today. I was also influenced by J. Krishnamurti and Jane Roberts' channeling of Seth, among many others.
Going to Hong Kong as an exchange student in September 1974 was the single most transformative event in my life. The following extracts are from my diary that year. They describe my initial involvement in TM and some other spiritual activities.]
