On Why There’s No Good and Evil
Yes. I know it’s a controversial topic
A friend recently told me good and evil most certainly exist. She mentioned all the doozies most people talk about that seem to support her claim, and I don’t blame her. I was once in the same camp.
What about (evil) dictators who commit mass murder?
How come people kill innocent children?
Why do bad things happen to good people?
These and other factors may spring to mind when you contemplate the existence of good and evil. Indeed, plenty of atrocities take place in the world: there’s no denying it.
However, it’s worth being open-minded about whether we need to shift our mindsets about good and evil and embrace healthier ideas that explain negative experiences.
From the perspective of an ancient sage, goodness and wickedness are illusions.
But don’t get mad at meditating gurus who espouse such notions. Their thoughts on the topic are sound.
