No “one” ever experiences “nondual awakening”. To experience something requires duality — a “me” that is experiencing “something” or that is “awakening” to something.
Many people have had various types of awakening experiences (I have had my own). But there is always a “me” that is experiencing that, no matter how amazing and life changing the experience may be. It is a glimpse of oneness, but it is not full-on nonduality, which is often said to be a permanent condition.
As for spiritual practices, the “me” is forever seeking (or grasping) because, without grasping (or attaching itself to things), it would not exist. The “me” creates its identity and self-value through what it claims as itself (through its life story, for example). There is nothing wrong with that. It’s just the way it is.
Spiritual practices are one form of attachment. The more spiritual one is, the more practice one does, the stronger the “spiritual me” is. Again, there is nothing wrong with that. It’s just the way it is. And spiritual practices can certainly be a good thing for the “me”…
