How many voices lay wait in your head?
Can you discern each clearly?
Or do they sound a jumbled mess, a cacophony of confusing timbres bouncing around without precise intent?
It may surprise you to know that the brightest of spiritual students suffer the voices also. No matter the level of one’s accomplishment, the voices inherent to all humans still speak without cease, vying for attention, unless forcefully silenced through will.
’Tis no failure to experience this disquieting of mind.
The human brain can be likened to a radio receiver: in that; it is capable of picking up many frequencies. Some more clearly than others and yet many at one time, leaving none truly clear ’til the strongest is found, focused upon, and selected.
Your inner voices are present within you and do not need to be received. But they can behave in the same way as the incoming radio waves, in that; all may sound distorted and confused until each is finely tuned.
You, of course, do not possess a dial to aid in tuning; selection must be made organically by innately recognizing the strongest voice. and that recognition can only occur by allowing the voices their individual say and actively listening.
This may seem a tiresome endeavor to some: as most believe the solution to any dilemma should be found, immediately and spontaneously, through their already secured higher self’s clarity.
Mm, sometimes the higher self is not as well secured as thought. Sometimes it seeks to know itself better by re-filtering through that which gave it precedence — the other aspects of self.
Within each individual is a myriad of aspects waiting to give voice, the ego-child, the optimist, the whinger,* the wise sage, and many more. Whatever their names, or functions, these aspects together form your own private and unique council.
It does not exist to confuse; it exists to assist.
Few can accept without question the views or ways of others. Most propositions must be weighed for merit through each aspect of one’s own entire persona, whether those parts are assumed to be negative or positive.
Awareness is the key here; awareness of which council member is giving voice and the true reasons for that member to be doing so. Each voice must be focused upon and identified as the aspect it is.
If this is done, it may be then that some realize a perhaps misnamed and less-than-wise member has been allowed to hold the floor over-long and should be silenced.
’Tis no shame to be fooled by a lower aspect mimicking a higher. No shame, to allow all aspects of self to stay with you and speak. For all surely assist in their way.
The presence of all council members, and their voices, creates the distortion through which the Higher Self’s voice can more clearly sound if holding the key of awareness.
Cherish every aspect of self, beloved children. Listen, look and truly see, then allow the Highest its rule.
*Whinger is a colloquialism. It means whiner.
