Where Did the Light Come From?

We are all the prodigies of primates. We are doing everything wrong on our way to finding out how to do it right. We live inside a sphere cast under the shadow of their destructive thoughts. It will be up to us to imagine a new light ahead. I am on a continuous journey to imagine new ideas, added by concepts in science, mashed up with the help of ChatGPT, to help me connect my observations of life together as we all travel together inside this sphere of light, pushing against the entropy of darkness.

The Genesis of the Universe: Quantum Tunneling of Light Information/Energy

The origins of our universe remain a mystery. One of the more intriguing theories in modern physics, inspired by the work of renowned physicist Roger Penrose and others, is that quantum tunneling might be at the heart of this genesis. Quantum tunneling is a phenomenon where particles surmount barriers in ways that defy classical physics, suggesting that, under quantum rules, particles can appear on the other side of an impassable barrier.

Applying this concept cosmologically, some theorists speculate that our universe itself might have ‘tunneled’ into existence. Before the Big Bang, the singularity that birthed our universe, or a field of energy, could have undergone quantum tunneling from a pre-existing state — perhaps another dimension or universe — into the form we observe today.

(BEGIN/DOS)

Remember DOS, the foundational data operating system beneath Windows? It was a cornerstone of early computing, yet for many, including myself, it represented a challenging and often frustrating learning curve. My first computer class at Indiana University in 1992 was K201: computers in Business. I was all about DOS. Just thinking about it brings back some of the worst memories of despair I have ever felt in my fifty years of life. DOS was the darkness for me and many others, including my friend and roommate Jason, who let his hatred of this underlying operating system spin him into a dark corner of self-perpetuating bad ideas.

Light Codes

These systems spun forward from the past into the future, leading to continued dynamic equilibrium inside the biosphere of Earth (the lights of life on Earth –the biosphere– stay on, is what that means). Light Codes represent progressive ideas shaping systems for a sustainable future. Unlike digital constructs where time feels illusory, these concepts aim to reduce entropy, fostering a balanced, thriving Earth. Entropy is terrible for life. We need to fix it.

Dark Codes

Dark Codes are seemingly beneficial systems that, over time, reveal their destructive nature to the oncoming future. These traps have systems built in to stop the young from interfering with them — but the young are learning. First, slowly and clumsily, the new generation of lights seeks to CANCEL dark codes that spin darky, in broad daylight, over their shared futures.

These dark codes, underpinned by fear and short-term benefits, separated by a thin manifold of pain associated with making changes, ultimately disrupt and dismantle the balanced and dynamic equilibrium paths throughout the multiverse. Their long-term impact leads to the destruction of Earth’s biosphere(s) forward. In a universe where light symbolizes growth and order, the escalation of darkness and entropy, fueled by our reliance on and fear of losing a false comfort, is universally recognized as a negative trajectory by sentient human consciousness.

The electromagnetic spectrum — infrared, visible, and ultraviolet light — interacts with the quantum of existence (2+1) to reflect our 3D hologram of existence — the Earth is a giant projection system of information coming from the sun. I like to think of this big light in the sky as the location where light energy/information quantumly tunnels from where it was before to inside our existence. The trick is, I don’t know where it was before — because I can see that it came from within the darkness. We cannot see into the darkness, so whenever that happens, it must be another dimension (typically, when my mind goes dark on a subject, it is because that concept stretches beyond my 3+1 reality for which I am hard-wired to understand. Consciousness, as it were, can only fully imagine its own dimension, though it can interpret the math of other dimensions, it would seem. I have found ways to imagine around my limitations by understanding that I cannot wholly imagine the other two dimensions of existence. I must stack fundamentals until I find meaning and share them. It’s in my DNA (I made that up., But I do have an impulse to share).

Three Lights Working Together Inside the Biosphere of Earth

1). Infrared Light: wavelength typically ranges from about 700 nanometers (nm) to 1 millimeter (mm).

Interaction with Biosphere: Infrared radiation primarily contributes to the Earth’s heat balance. This segment of the spectrum is vital for temperature regulation and is absorbed by the atmosphere and the Earth’s surface, warming the planet. This warmth is necessary for the survival of many forms of life.

2). Visible Light: wavelength extends from about 400 nm to 700 nm, covering all colors perceptible to the human eye, from violet to red.

Interaction with Biosphere: Visible light is the portion of the spectrum most crucial for life on Earth. It is the primary source of energy for photosynthesis, the process by which plants convert light energy into chemical energy. This process is the foundation of most food chains and ecosystems.

3). Ultraviolet Light: wavelength ranges from about 10 nm to 400 nm and is further divided into UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C, with varying degrees of penetration and biological effects.

Interaction with Biosphere: Ultraviolet (UV) light plays a mixed role. While it can be harmful due to its ability to damage DNA and cause sunburns, it is also essential for producing Vitamin D in many animals, including humans. Moreover, UV light can have sterilizing effects, which helps control microbial populations in specific environments.

Each segment of these three electromagnetic spectrum contributes uniquely to sustaining life on Earth, balancing the harmful and beneficial effects of complex ecological interactions. The trinity of light — Infrared, Visible, and Ultraviolet — work in a state of dynamic equilibrium to uphold the intricate balance of life within Earth’s biosphere. Infrared light ensures thermal equilibrium, which is essential for climatic stability and life’s thermal needs. Visible light fuels photosynthesis, the cornerstone of most life forms, by converting light energy into vital chemical energy. Lastly, Ultraviolet light, despite its potential risks, plays a crucial role in vitamin synthesis and microbial regulation.

These varied wavelengths, each with distinct properties and interactions, collectively orchestrate a complex yet harmonious symphony of life processes. This interplay highlights the intricate and interdependent relationship between light and life, underlying Earth’s biosphere’s remarkable resilience and diversity.

Contrast: Harmful Emissions like X-rays and Gamma Rays

Filtering: The Earth’s atmosphere effectively blocks these high-energy emissions. X-rays and gamma rays, which are ionizing and can damage living cells and DNA, are mostly absorbed or scattered in the upper atmosphere.

Radio Waves

Filtering: The biosphere does not need to block radio waves, as they are low energy and not harmful to life. The atmosphere is transparent to them so we can use them for communication. The Earth’s biosphere is a sophisticated, natural regulatory system. The Sphere selectively allows in wavelengths essential for life, like visible light for photosynthesis and some UV light for vitamin D synthesis, while blocking or mitigating the effects of potentially harmful radiation like UVB, UVC, X-rays, and gamma rays. This intricate balance of absorption, reflection, and transmission of solar radiation is crucial for maintaining the conditions necessary for Earth’s vast array of life.

(DOS/REALITY) — Jason’s Journey

January, 1992. K201 was a core requirement for business school. Since we failed, we would need to retake the class later. On an otherwise dull Saturday night, the Sunday night before school started back up after the holidays, we were at a small gathering of drinking pals. Jason and a few others wandered back to the bedroom of the apartment and then fired up the computer. Jason logged into the email program Gopher. Someone thought it would be hilarious to send our K201 Professor, Brad, a nasty email. To the best of my now nearly thrifty five-year-old memory (and after confirming with one other participant), this is what I believe Jason drafted in a message to our Professor:

“Hey there, Brad, I hope your Christmas was merry because mine wasn’t so fucking merry, Brad, not after my parents saw my grade in your stupid fucking class, Brad.”

He didn’t send it right away, but he did keep drinking. He let it sit inside the darkness of the computer for a while. Later that night, as the tiny gathering of friends waned, Jason, still on Gopher, fueled by even more beers, continued his electronic diatribe:

“Now, I don’t want to threaten you, Brad, but if I ever see you on campus, I’m going to tear off your head and shit down your neck. Love Always, Jason.” With a gulp of Miller Lite and certain friends screaming, “Do it, do it, do it,” (not me, I told him not to)…

Jason pushed “send.”

Our universe of DOS, Windows, and Other Upgrades

These 3+1 dimensional walls are what I call (borrowing from permaculture) a stacking, racking, and folding of infrared, visible, and ultraviolet electromagnetic codes (interdimensional inside the biosphere) atop one another. The lights seek to connect/communicate/collapse the dimensions of existence into one. Look at it from a distance, and you will see that this is what AI technology seeks to accomplish — all the wisdom of the past focused on One query…

(attached to whose consciousness?)

Here’s how it stacks: somehow (maybe microtubules?), conscious collapse stacks of batched quantum moments — collapses of the wave function from entangled possibilities into a single outcome — a code inside a 2+1 dimensional quantum reality (light/dark (0/1, On/Off) against a manifold in the middle, thermodynamic outcomes of the infrared light from the sun as it reacts with the biosphere of Earth — into a stacked, racked, spherically folded code of visible light, now 3+1 dimensions (visible light code stacking over 0/1) — the dimension of time (replacing the 0/1 manifold of light/dark), into what we perceive as our visually oriented conscious reality — a reality that is a combination of all the signals from all the sensors of the human body into spherical moments of consciousness, moments stacked backward in a framed narrative (the past) to create a sensation of motion through time as we spin on Earth, around the sun, around the universe, towards the outcome of the math of reality into the next version of ourselves inside the ever-expanding multiverse of outcomes, looking for a way to behave with one another here on Earth.

What is Life?

Life, as we perceive it, is a symphony of visible light codes, interplaying with underlying quantum signals, constantly seeking harmonious outcomes within the universe’s vast expanse. Existence inside consciousness is a holographic projection of a 3D code made of visible light bouncing off an underlying stacked 2D code of quantum infrared light — as it tries possible combinations of codes, spinning forward in search of some outcome in a future location located out in the darkness of space.

Question: When have you ever made it to the future?

Answer: Never. We are always inside the collapse of the past–the wave into a particle, which builds the subsequent collapse, and on we spin to the next moment we encounter, always in orbit around the possible futures we will create for one another.

The Ultraviolet Realm of Death (maybe?…)

Suppose there is indeed an infrared, quantum universe, with its own version of light causality governed by thermodynamic outcomes, and our visible light universe causality stacked on top/behind/slower than the quantum. In that case, I too surmise, I assume, I believe, maybe, that there MUST also be an ultraviolet universe, reflected in our religions, and other ideas of spirituality, manifesting through art, existing just beyond our imagination.

The Sphere of Existence from the POV of Life

  • 2+1 Quantum Mechanical Realm of Quantum Field Theory (QFT) (below, before, faster than time/consciousness): infrared causality constructed of integrated code of infrared/visible/ultraviolet energy
  • 3+1 Classical Consciousness (TIME) General Relativity (GR): visible light reality constructed of integrated code of infrared/visible/ultraviolet energy
  • 3+1 /Over the Manifold into One Death: Our existence spans multiple dimensions, from the quantum realm to the conscious world we navigate, each layer contributing to a complex tapestry of universal causality.

Connect/Communicate/Collapse

We exist inside a multiverse of interdimensional outcomes, trying to find a way to connect/communicate/collapse these three light causality codes into One. The system uses the visible light reality to find a path and adjust to the subsequent outcome. Free will manifests in our actions, shaping the narrative of our lives within the visible light spectrum, influenced by the underlying quantum mechanics. Free will exists as we say and do things in the past that affect the (math equation unfolding) outcome forward — into the subsequent collapse on reality (wave to particle). You are watching yourself make decisions inside the visible light spectrum, which is some type of stacked encoding of the underlying quantum outcomes; consciousness is making sense of the thermodynamic outcome that precedes and governs its reality; we dynamically witness our narrative inside consciousness to make sense of what we have already done. Free will allows us to plan ahead and do whatever it takes to move the narrative around us together. We need to remember what feeds the narrative. This skill alone separates us from the other animals.

(DOS/EXIT)

Boy, did Jason land in a lot of trouble with old IU, facing a disciplinary committee — a group of serious faculty members who looked down on him while he tried to explain why we sent this drunken email to his instructor (“That’s not what email is for!”). He nearly got kicked out. They only allowed him to stay on probation after he admitted to having a serious alcohol problem. He agreed to seek help. To the best of my knowledge, he never sought assistance.

Sadly enough, in a dark turn, Jason recently died of liver cirrhosis from years of excessive drinking. Nothing really to do with DOS. But DOS did indeed suck. I took the class again several years later once it migrated to Windows 3.1 or whatever. K201 on DOS = F-. But K201 on Widows = A+.
