  • I write when a particular image I take transposes me to a more ethereal juxtaposition. Usually this is on a run, but this one was while visiting my daughter in college. ✍🏼📷💫

We often think of life as linear.
A work in process from here to there
Where the destination is some location more intoxicating
Then the spot we reside in.

Days, events, cycles are simply not so binary.
Desires, expectations and carried griefs
Tangle our intentions and color our world.
What we do not tend to may simply take hold.

The horizon seems ethereal, kind and measured, but
The crispness of the present is where we need to reside
In all its complicated rhythms.

It is only when we attach perspective to our observation
That neutrality is lost.
And as you are witness the grass is never truly greener
On the other side of the proverbial fence.

What energy is applied frames our vision
Forwards the internal loop towards love, expansion and presence.

Life simply is not quite so linear.
