Most of us write off dragons as fictional fire-breathing creatures lurking in abandoned castles. After all, this is how they have been portrayed in popular culture — as nothing more than fairytales for children, and perhaps symbols of destruction… primitive beasts that know no better.

But there’s a lot more to this mythological cake. Dragons do exist. Perhaps not as flying creatures that have a searing temper for everyone and everything, but rather as ancient spiritual energies representing protection, guardianship, and divine power. This force is known as dragon energy, and it’s something we can learn to tap into.

Within many cultures, dragons are revered as deities that are responsible for cosmic balance, creation, and protection. Whether we’re looking at Eastern cultures, Western cultures, or shamanic traditions, dragons, in whatever interpretation they take are deeply imprinted into the collective human psyche.
