Previous Republican U.S. representative Rick Santorum has been dropped as a senior political analyst by CNN after comments he made about Native American culture drew analysis.

In April, Santorum delivered a speech at Young America’s Foundation, a moderate organization, in which he stated:

CNN, which felt obligated to drop him as an analyst after the comments, said on Saturday it had headed out in different directions from Santorum.

“At the point when I joined up with CNN, I thought I would give an editorial that isn’t consistently heard by the commonplace CNN watcher. I like the chance CNN gave me in the course of recent years, “Santorum said later on Twitter.

The Native American Journalists Association had encouraged native columnists to try not to work with CNN and had required his excusal from the TV station.

At the point when Santorum showed up at the organization toward the beginning of May, on “Cuomo Prime Time,” CNN anchor Chris Cuomo got some information about the subject, and Santorum recognized that his remarks were wrong. He said that he misspoke.
