Haven’t been able to keep up with The Tilt? Don’t worry, we’ve put together some great things for you.

“The word apocalypse comes from Latin meaning “revelation” and from Greek meaning apokalyptein, to “uncover, disclose, reveal. Its roots go from apo “off, away from” kalyptein “to cover to conceal”.

This is therefore a moment where the inequalities of the world are being revealed to us. This is a moment of uncovering, a moment of reckoning with oneself and understanding how we want to move forward. Do we choose community? Do we choose to use our voice? Do we choose to see? Whether we want it or not, the world will change, because it has to. As we transition, hold on to gratitude, beauty, and joy. We’re gonna need them.” Words from Tilt Editor Virginia Vigliar.

For this Summer Edition of the Tilt’s newsletter, we are sharing some of our thoughts on the changing climate and highlighting some of the 🔥HOT🔥 work we’ve been doing.

The summer heat this year is scary, temperatures are soaring all over the world, with wildfires hitting large parts of Europe and the United States. The summer heat also means stripping our bodies of the cold winter clothes and letting bodies free. Summer is therefore also about liberation, sensuality, freedom, and joy.

There is an urgency now more than ever to reimagine the future. But how? Well, Tarn Rogers tells us how imagination activism, meme-making and myths are vital tools for addressing climate change.

We also have a question for you: Do you write your dreams down? Just as the summer heat hit the hardest, Cerena Caesar shares her thoughts about how our dreams are being affected by the heat, and what consequences this has on the way we shape the narratives in our lives. With her expertise in human rights and archetypal psychology, this piece will take you on a wild journey, and hopefully leave you with a little more will to dream.

This month’s art corner comes with a beautiful song by ctrl, and we speak with Laura Beltran Villamizar, Photography Director of Atmos Magazine about the narrative of scarcity and how holding on to beauty is a necessary part of progress. She also highlights her work with DJs for Climate Action, where producers around the world were asked to create original tracks built from their climate sample pack. The result is a climate soundtrack of the future, which you can listen to here. Curious to listen to the sound of the future? Here it is!

What we love doing the most Suggested Summer reads We recently came up with a few titles to #TiltYourVision, books that shift and break narratives around social justice issues. If books are not your thing, then why not check some of our articles in The Tilt Magazine?

We hope the summer heat doesn’t raise the temperatures of your climate anxiety and that you are able to hold on to joy and beauty, without forgetting what is at stake.
