The Social,Cultural and Technological changes — An Auto ethnography
Technology plays major part in advancement of today’s world.In my childhood,the only way of entertainment is Television other than playing outdoor games.I used to watch cartoons all the time.Those animated characters used to fascinate me a lot just like for every other child but due to power cut,mainly during summer holidays I was not able to watch T.V. Nowadays we have got thin LCD and LED’ s to watch anything with dish broad bands. When I was a kid there used to be a wired telephone in order to make calls or to contact to someone. But now the wired telephone has evolved into wireless buttoned phone and later into touchscreen mobile phone.I remember going to a school excursion with my fellow mates in my eighth grade.I took a digital camera in order to capture the memories but unfortunately after half an hour the battery died.But today everyone has mobile phones to take pictures instantly.

The internet is playing major part in today’s world.The younger generations are more advanced in technology compared to the older generations.We can connect internet to our phones,Car systems,TV etc.Everything is piece of cake these days as the technology is advancing day by day.Speaking of cake it reminded of oven,it’s such a great invention.Each and everything is coming out in market with more advanced features out dating their previous versions.Everything can be done online from shopping to paying bills. Technology mad the life easier in most of the aspects.
Social changes are clearly visible in today’s world between people.Before children are more leaned towards outdoor games and playing outside and used to socialize unlike today where children are just holding their phones to play games making most of the children introverts.When we were hungry my mom used to cook something for me and my brother but now children are just logging into the food apps and are ordering it.When I was a kid I grew up celebrating every festival of all kinds with my neighbour unlike now where no one has time to celebrate.In my childhood everyone in our whole colony used to fire crackers and party all the day during diwali. Later we shifted and no one in my apartment celebrate diwali.

These busy lives and people working round the clock does not have a second to talk with neighbour living next door.Socializing decreased between the people.
Cultures are multiple in our country with variations.But before girl children are not encouraged to study by the families in our state.Even though they go to school they are not allowed study more than tenth grade.The girl’s family starts looking out for matches and she has to get married as soon as she finishes her schooling.Now,as people are gaining knowledge about the importance of education they are letting their girl child study and encouraging her to be an independent woman.

Residing in hostel has introduced me to a new experience.Being with people who came from different parts of our country introduced me to different cultures,rituals,festivals etc.Being multi-cultural nation we have interesting cultures and I have celebrated almost all religion festivals with my friends.
These are some of the changes in the social,cultural and technology are something which I have observed while growing up.But,like they say everything has its own advantages and disadvantages.
